At the end of 2023 I moved from Hamburg to Leipzig and took up Tango Argentino at the same time. After the very first class it was clear: this was going to be something bigger.

My pattern: I want to get to the bottom of a subject and then make it easier for others to get in. From 2007 to 2009 as an organiser and instructor for parkour in Hamburg, from 2011 to 2021 as a full-time karate teacher. Now it is tango.

What is this?

Tango Germany is the independent event calendar for Argentine tango in Germany’s tango capitals — milongas, prácticas, classes, workshops and festivals, gathered in one place.

Every event is checked at the organiser’s source before it enters the calendar: I do not copy unverified entries from aggregator sites. The calendar is free of paid advertising and tracking, bilingual (German/English) and curated editorially. My own projects are marked “Our own event”.

I run Tango Germany from Leipzig, just like tango-in-leipzig.de, the regional portal for Leipzig & Central Germany. Both portals draw on one jointly curated pool of events — the .com shows the country’s tango capitals, while the .de covers every milonga in the Central German region. Events in Leipzig and Dresden therefore appear in this calendar too; their detail pages live on the sister portal.

Missing an event?

Organisers can submit events informally by e-mail: info@tango-germany.com. I add new cities step by step — the calendar grows wherever the scene dances.
